Who is behind the Artistic Merchant? Zhosai Johnson is a young entrepreneur from Steenberg who has collaborated with Amava Oluntu since July 2022.

Here is her story:“Art is something that I’ve always loved growing up. My love for art began at a very young age where creating painted hand and finger prints, colouring in books and just getting creative with my hands was the daily creative sessions in primary school . I’ve explored most mediums of Fine Art in High School during Grade 8 and 9. Grade 10 was when you were only allowed to choose one medium of Art and my choice was Darkroom Photography. I’ve fallen in love with photography in high school and decided to pursue it as my career path. The institution that I studied at not only included photography as a subject but also graphic design, history of art and entrepreneurial studies. Graphic Design also became something that I’ve fallen in love with and made me realize how in demand graphic designers really are. Having both of these creative abilities has made me think of many ways I could sustain myself while still loving what I do. After graduating I struggled finding an internship or job opportunity… this made me hungry for finding ways to still continue doing what I love – which is being a creative. I didn’t want to be someone who was forced into a job I don’t like and that is my reason for starting Artistic Merchant.”
